Tax Preparation

Bookkeeping
Bookkeeping is essential to running a small business. We offer help with QuickBooks so, if you wish and are able, you can do most of the work yourself. We also do after-the-fact bookkeeping from your bank statements, credit card statements and the like, with info you provide. We work with our clients to determine the optimum quantity of service for the type of business they are running. The best businesses keep on top of their accounting so that future planning is made easier.
Payroll Services
For payroll services, some businesses use NetPay, ADP, or another large payroll service, but sometimes the paperwork those services provide is a little overwhelming. We try to keep it simple, for companies that have 15 or fewer employees and don’t necessarily need or want direct deposit. Some banks make it more feasible than others for us to offer direct deposit. We can also provide after-the-fact payroll reporting for quarterly federal and state reports and annual W-2s.
1099 Preparation
Proper 1099 preparation is becoming more important all the time. We now provide electronic filing of 1099s, which allows the due date to be extended to the end of March, although 1099s are due to payees by the end of January each year. We prepare these forms from information provided by clients or from the bookkeeping records we prepare during the year for small businesses.
Notary Services
Melody O’Keefe provides excellent notary service, and while she is most usually in the office, she does go out to some clients, so it is best to call before coming to obtain her services. Appointments are recommended, but not required.
